Community colleges operate on a rolling admission plan. This means applications are reviewed as they are received, and decisions are typically made within several weeks of receiving an applicant’s completed information (which should include all academic transcripts). Each OWL student should complete the enrollment application through the “home” college where s/he intends to matriculate or receive a degree.
Community colleges offer several coursework periods including a Fall semester; a session of classes offered mid-December through mid-January; a Spring semester; and several summer sessions. While many courses run a full semester of 16 weeks, there are also many 12-week, 8-week, and 4 week sessions for consideration. Online classes are generally offered within these various time frames. Students can check the schedules of each institution they are interested in for exact course times and schedules.
